Amir-Abdollahian denounces Bahrain's reception of Lapid
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian denounces Bahrain's reception of the occupation's foreign minister and stresses that Iran only recognizes "one country called Palestine and its capital is the Holy Quds."
The Iranian Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, denounced the Bahraini government's reception of the Israeli occupation foreign minister, Yair Lapid, to its capital, Manama. He considered it a "clear betrayal of the aspirations of the oppressed and resilient Palestinian people."
In a tweet, Amir-Abdollahian stressed that the Islamic Republic only recognizes "one country called Palestine and its capital is the Holy Quds."
He also considered that "Tel Aviv will only bring about insecurity to Bahrain and the region"
The plane carrying Lapid landed at Manama airport yesterday, Thursday, and a Gulf Air plane took off on the first flight between the two sides today.
Angry demonstrations denouncing Bahrain's normalization with "Israel" also erupted, coinciding with Lapid's arrival in Manama. The demonstrations also took form on social media, where Bahrainis launched a campaign against the visit.
