A member of the Supreme Political Council in Yemen, Mohammed Ali Al-Houthi, stressed that “the United States is the party violating international law," commenting on the UNSC resolutions that condemned Yemen's operations in the Red Sea in support of Gaza.

In a post on X, al-Houthi said: “The adopted [UN] decision regarding the security of navigation in the Red Sea is a political game,” stressing that “the United States is the party violating international law.”

Al-Houthi further demanded that the Israeli entity "immediately stop all attacks that hinder and end life in Gaza and undermine rights, freedoms, and regional peace and security."

He also called on the Security Council for "the immediate release of two million and three hundred thousand people from under the Israeli-US siege, which has become a lethal weapon, under which Gaza has become the largest prison where criminal collective punishment is being practiced."

Al-Houthi vowed to respond to any attack the US might launch against Ansar Allah against the backdrop of the Yemeni Resistance group preventing ships affiliated with “Israel” in any way from passing through the Red Sea. In this context, he said, “We emphasize the necessity of standing in the face of injustice as per the teachings of our religion and values, and the operations of the Yemeni Armed Forces come within the context of legitimate defense,” stressing that “any action will be met with a reaction.”

The Ansar Allah leading figure concluded by saying that any country that attacks [another] for the sake of the usurping entity or defends and protects it, knowing that it commits massacres under American-British protection, shall bear full responsibility, stressing that they, along with “Israel”, violate international law.

This comes after the UN Security Council approved Resolution 2722 led by the United States, urging Yemeni Armed Forces to cease their activities in the Red Sea, as per Sputnik's correspondent on Wednesday.

The resolution "demands that the Houthis immediately cease all such attacks, which impede global commerce and undermine navigational rights and freedoms, as well as regional peace and security, and further demands that the Houthis immediately release the Galaxy Leader and its crew," according to the text.

Commenting on the decision earlier, a member of Ansar Allah Political Bureau, Hizam al-Assad, said that America “got itself implicated in the Red Sea and is thus trying to implicate others,” stressing that Washington and whosoever gets involved with it will deeply regret the provocations in the Red and Arabian seas.
