Several Arab countries, along with the General Secretariat of the Arab League, have strongly condemned statements by Israeli occupation Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding his so-called “Greater Israel” vision, which he claimed extends into Jordan, Palestine, Syria, Lebanon, and Egypt as an attack on the sovereignty of Arab states and a violation of international law.
The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the Kingdom “condemns the statements issued by the Prime Minister of the occupation government regarding what is called the Greater Israel vision.”
In a statement carried by the official Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Riyadh declared its rejection of “the settlement and expansionist ideas and projects adopted by the occupation authorities.”
Qatar and Jordan voice strong opposition
Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its “condemnation and denunciation” of the remarks, calling them “an extension of the occupation’s approach based on arrogance, fueling conflicts, and blatant infringement on the sovereignty of states, international law, and UN resolutions.”
Jordan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs described Netanyahu’s comments as “a serious provocative escalation and a threat to the sovereignty of states.” Spokesperson Sufyan Qudah reaffirmed Jordan’s absolute rejection of these “incendiary statements.”
Cairo also condemned the “Greater Israel” remarks, saying such rhetoric “reflects a rejection of the peace option and an insistence on escalation, in contradiction to aspirations for achieving security and stability in the region.”
Arab League: threat to regional security
The Arab League General Secretariat described Netanyahu’s vision as “a violation of the sovereignty of Arab states, an attempt to undermine security and stability in the region, a grave threat to Arab national security, and a blatant challenge to international law and the principles of international legitimacy.”
In an interview with Israeli channel “i24,” Netanyahu said he was on a “historic and spiritual mission” and felt a strong connection to the “Greater Israel vision,” which, according to him, includes the occupied Palestinian territories and parts of Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, and Egypt.
He added that this vision represents “the continuation of the dream of previous generations of Jews,” stating: “If you ask me whether I feel it is a historic and spiritual mission, the answer is yes.”
