Arab States Participate in Turkish Drills
Several Arab states partake in the Eastern Mediterranean 2021 drills hosted by Turkey.
The Turkish-hosted-and-organized multinational Eastern Mediterranean 2021 drills started Tuesday in Mugla.
The drill will be carried out between November 1 and 12 in the Eastern Mediterranean in a bid to test humanitarian aid, as well as natural disaster response methods, Turkish Luitenant Colonel Cuneyt Talayman told reporters.
Several Arab states will participate in the 10-nation drills that will include 35 naval vessels and 5,000 personnel.
11 observers from Bahrain, Iraq, Jordan, Libya, Nigeria, Pakistan, Oman, and Ukraine are also participating in the exercise.
According to Talayman, 26 Turkish navy ships will take part in the drills, and Turkey’s air force, army, and coast guard will also join.
