Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi strongly condemned the latest Israeli airstrikes on Syria, reaffirming Tehran’s support for Syrian sovereignty and territorial integrity.
In a post published on the social media platform X, Araghchi described the attack on Damascus as “all too predictable,” warning of potential further escalations: “Which capital is next?” he asked.
He referred to the Israeli regime as “rabid,” asserting that it “knows no bounds and only grasps one language.” Araghchi further called on the international community and regional powers to unite against Israeli “unhinged aggression,” which threatens the stability of the entire region.
“Iran supports the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria, and will always stand with the Syrian people,” he affirmed.

Israeli strikes escalate in Syria
Israeli warplanes carried out a wave of strikes on Wednesday targeting multiple locations across southern Syria, including Damascus, Sweida, and Daraa.
Earlier in the day, Israeli missiles struck the General Staff Headquarters in Damascus and reportedly targeted the Tishreen Presidential Palace. The strikes marked a significant escalation in recent Israeli targeting of Syrian military and state sites.
Syrian state media reported damage to infrastructure but has yet to issue an official casualty toll. No Israeli comment has been made regarding the rationale behind the attacks, though they follow growing Israeli involvement in the ongoing instability in southern Syria.
