Assad Discusses Syria-UAE Relations with Bin Zayed
President Bashar al-Assad discussed with Abu Dhabi's Crown Prince, Sheikh Mohammad bin Zayed al-Nahyan, developments in Syria and West Asia.
Syrian President Bashar al-Assad spoke over the phone today with Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Zayed al-Nahyan, about recent regional and international development, according to SANA.
The Syrian agency also clarified that the discussion revolved around bilateral relations, steps to improve them, bilateral cooperation between Syrian and the UAE, and joint efforts to expand them to best serve the interests of both countries and peoples.
Syrian-Emirati Business Council formed
In a related context, the Syrian Ministry of Economy and Foreign Trade issued a decision to form the Syrian-Emirati Business Council with the aim of activating the role of the private sector in developing economic cooperation between the two countries in all its commercial, industrial, agricultural, and tourism fields.
The decision, according to SANA, aims to develop cooperation in the investment field and the reconstruction of Syria.
The decision came as an implementation step of what was agreed upon during the meeting that brought together the Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade, Dr. Samer Al-Khalil, with the UAE Minister of Economy, Abdullah Tawk, on the sidelines of the opening of the Syrian pavilion at Dubai's Expo 2020.
