Assassination of Resistance commanders not to end struggle: PIJ spox
The military spokesperson for the Palestinian Islamic Jihad underlines that the struggle for liberation did not end with the assassination of the PIJ commanders in Gaza.
The assassination of the commanders of the Resistance as a policy aimed at putting an end to the Resistance cause has become obsolete, said Sunday Abu Hamza, the spokesperson for Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad.
The spokesperson went on to assure the Palestinian people and the supporters of the Resistance by saying there were new commanders that stepped in and led Operation Avenging the Free until the end, saying they exceptionally performed their duties.
The new commanders of the Palestinian resistance concluded Operation Avenging the Free by launching a salvo of rockets toward the occupied Palestinian territories and targeting "Tel Aviv", he said. "The last strike was us saluting our fellow martyrs and sending a clear message that the Resistance's military apparatus is in the best condition it could be.
"The operation's five days on saw rage pouring over the heads of these Zionist scoundrels," he stressed. The battle kicked off with Israeli treachery that shows that "the enemy's army is defeated and its government is crises-stricken, and that criminal prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu wanted to head toward an illusioned victory by assassinating the valiant resistance commanders."
"Through their blood, they made a bridge that allowed us to cross into liberation and salvation from our and humanity's enemy," Abu Hamza underlined. "Everything we did on the battlefront did not suffice. We still owe them, and we pledge to always be indebted for their blood."
He also lauded the martyrs, the leaders, and the heroic freedom fighters that participated in Operation Avenging the Free, pointing out that the battle bore the touch of martyr Ali Al-Aswad. He also mentioned martyr, Sheikh Khader Adnan, stressing that he was a "man of determination who stood like a mountain in the face of the enemy seeking freedom until martyrdom."
Abu Hamza also mourned the martyrs of the Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades, the Mujahideen Brigades, and all the factions affiliated within the framework of the Palestinian Resistance's Joint Operations Room.
The spokesman also indicated that "by virtue of the treachery of us as the Al-Quds Brigades, and the enemy's attempt to single us out, the resistance factions did not delay, and everyone fulfilled their mandate," greeting "the joint room of the Palestinian resistance factions headed by the brothers in the Al-Qassam Brigades."
At the end of the heroic Operation Avenging the Free, "we repeat once again to the whole world that we have all of the Palestinian people by our side, who never let down their Resistance and have always been loyal supporters of it through their steadfastness and unparalleled kindness."
Moreover, Abu Hamza extended his salutations and offered his gratitude and thanks to the axis of resistance, "At the helm of which is the Syrian Arab Republic, Lebanon with the proud Hezbollah, and valiant Yemen, as well as the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Revolution's Guards, and the Quds Force who were with us step by step in Operation Avenging the Free."
Al-Quds Brigades mourned 11 martyrs of its top military brass during the recent Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, stressing that these martyred leaders left were killed after a great jihadi project and had a strong effect on the resistance and liberation project.
The Israeli occupation launched a five-day aggression against the Gaza Strip, targeting residential houses in the north, center, and south of the Strip.
In retaliation, Al-Quds Brigades and the Palestinian Resistance factions launched Operation Avenging the Free, in which it fired advanced rockets and missiles that bypassed the Iron Dome and targeted several Israeli settlements, occupied cities, and occupation sites.
According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, the number of Palestinians killed in the aggression rose to 33 martyrs, including six children and three women, and 147 people were wounded.
The Joint Operations Room of the Palestinian Resistance Factions in Gaza said on Saturday that Operation Avenging the Free was a new chapter of glory that the Resistance fought as a unified structure.
In a statement, the Operations Room said although Operation Avenging the Free has ended, the banners will not and shall not be lowered, and the will to fight will not and shall not ever dwindle.
