Beijing to Harris: US Is Terrorizing Other Countries without Paying Any Price
China responds to US Vice President Kamala Harris' statements and indicates that Washington is exploiting the law to tighten its grip over other countries.
Today, Tuesday, China accused the United States of exploiting the law to tighten its grip over other countries, in response to criticisms leveled by US Vice President Kamala Harris against Beijing during her visit to Singapore.
China's Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Wang Wenbin said the "order" that the United States wanted was one in which it could "wilfully slander, oppress, coerce and bully other countries and not have to pay any price", referring to the US intervention in Afghanistan.
Today, Tuesday, the US Vice President accused Beijing of coercion and intimidation to back unlawful claims in the disputed South China Sea, in her pursuit to rally allies against China.
Yesterday, Monday, a day after her arrival in Singapore, Harris said that she is visiting the country to reaffirm the US enduring relationship with Singapore, and the importance of rules and freedom of navigation in the Indo-Pacific region, the expanded cybersecurity cooperation, and the efforts to shore up critical supply chains between their countries were discussed.
"Our partnerships in Singapore, in Southeast Asia and throughout the Indo-Pacific, are a top priority for the United States," Harris said, adding that the region was "critically important to our nation's security and prosperity".
