Biden disgraced himself, his country: Kremlin on slurs against Putin
The President of the United States, notorious for his extensive track record of embarrassing blunders, made the remarks during a fundraiser in San Francisco.
The Kremlin has criticized Joe Biden, accusing him of demeaning himself and bringing disgrace to his country after the US President referred to Vladimir Putin as a "crazy SOB" during a fundraiser in San Francisco.
Biden made the comment while discussing the climate crisis, stating, “We have a crazy SOB like Putin and others, and we always have to worry about nuclear conflict, but the existential threat to humanity is climate.”
Biden has previously used the term "son of a b*****" to describe others. In January 2022, he was recorded on a hot mic using the same derogatory term about a Fox News White House reporter.
The Kremlin expressed that Biden's remarks were a “disgrace for the United States."
“The use of such language against the head of another state by the president of the United States is unlikely to infringe on our president, President Putin,” Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said. “But it debases those who use such vocabulary.”
Peskov stressed the comments were “probably some kind of attempt to look like a Hollywood cowboy.”
The US President has previously referred to Putin as "a killer, a pure thug, a war criminal, and a butcher." Following the beginning of the war in Ukraine, Biden stated that the Russian President "cannot remain in power."
Biden made these remarks as the US announced its readiness to impose "significant sanctions" on Moscow in reaction to the death of Alexei Navalny.
During a private event at a San Francisco residence on Wednesday, as part of a three-day fundraising tour in California for his 2024 re-election campaign, Biden expressed his amazement at recent remarks made by Donald Trump, his potential Republican opponent. Trump had drawn a comparison between what he described as a "suspicious prison death" of Russian opposition leader Navalny and his legal issues in the US. Trump, who was fined $350 million by a New York judge for lying about his wealth on financial statements, labeled the ruling as a form of "communism or fascism."
“Some of the things that this fellow’s been saying, like he’s comparing himself to Navalny and saying that – because our country’s become a communist country, he was persecuted, just like Navalny was persecuted. I don’t know where the hell this comes from,” Biden said.
“I mean, if I stood here 10, 15 years ago and said any of this, you’d all think I should be committed,” he said. “It astounds me.”

The 81-year-old has a proclivity for confusing details in wars, forgetting names, and nodding off during events, particularly at election fundraisers. In recent months, he has made staggeringly embarrassing blunders about the Chinese President and the Republican Party.
Biden's verbal assaults on Putin have significantly increased both at the White House and during his campaign. In the past week, the US President attributed the death of opposition leader Navalny to Putin and "his thugs".
“We don’t know exactly what happened, but there is no doubt that the death of Nalvany was a consequence of something that Putin and his thugs did,” Biden made the statement at the White House following the announcement of Navalny's death by Russian prison officials.
In the wake of persistent low polling and a track record of biggest gaffes, Biden's pursuit of a second term in the White House raises concerns among voters, and his recent comments about Putin only add to the uncertainty.
