US President Joe Biden underlines that he will provide protection for the Israeli occupation against Iran, whom it attacked first.

The United States' promise to protect "Israel" from an Iranian attack is "iron-clad", US President Joe Biden said on Wednesday more than a week after the Israeli occupation initiated by striking Iran's consulate in Syria, killing a senior Iranian military official.

Biden's words came after Bloomberg reported that the United States and its allies believed the Islamic Republic and its allied Resistance factions were planning major missile or drone strikes against Israeli targets.

"We also want to address the Iranian threat," Biden told reporters. "They're threatening to launch a significant attack in Israel. As I told Israeli Prime Minister [Benjamin] Netanyahu, our commitment to Israel's security against these threats from Iran and its proxies is ironclad. Let me say it again, ironclad."

"We're going to do all we can to protect Israel's security," Biden underlined during a news conference with visiting Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida.

Bloomberg reported on Wednesday that Israeli military and government targets were being eyed by Iran and allied Resistance factions in response to the Israeli violation of Iran's sovereignty.

Based on assessments from US and Israeli intelligence, the potential assault may happen in the coming days and would possibly rely on high-precision missiles, the report said, citing intelligence sources, adding that it was more a matter of when, not if, for such an eventuality.

During the rally for International al-Quds Day in Tehran, Iran, a procession was held for the Iranian martyrs assassinated by "Israel" in Damascus, Syria.

Strong response coming

The IRGC mourned the commander of the Quds Force in Lebanon and Syria, General Mohammad Reza Zahedi, and Brigadier General Mohammad-Hadi Haji-Rahimi, as well as IRGC officers Hossein Amanollahi, Seyyed Mehdi Jalalati, Mohsen Sadaghat, Ali Agha Babaei, and Seyyed Ali Salehi Rouzbahani.

Mourners attended the funeral and chanted slogans against the Israeli occupation and its most loyal ally, the United States.

Simultaneously, the commander of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) Major General Hossein Salami vowed that Iran will punish "Israel" for its crime.

"The Zionist regime is like a dagger that the satanic British regime stabbed the body of the Islamic nation with 75 years ago," Salami said, adding that should the United States and Western nations halt their support for "Israel", the occupation would crumble rapidly and very soon.

On the massacres "Israel" has been committing against Muslims, Salami said the entity's goal to strengthen its position is but an illusion.

The IRGC Commander also maintained that Gaza confirmed its resilience against the Israeli occupation and that the Palestinian Resistance called for an unyielding stance as the fight is still ongoing. "They [Gaza Resistance groups] say, be firm, we will bury the regime in Gaza."

Salami threatened the Israeli occupation with "Muslim fire" due to its easy accessibility and said that its future ends with its inevitable surrender.

Pledging to avenge the martyrs, Salami said, "Our brave men will punish the Zionist regime and the regime cannot escape from the seditions it creates," adding that no crime will go unanswered.

'Israel' to receive slap in face for consulate attack: Sayyed Khamenei

Iran repatriated the bodies of its martyrs on Wednesday, and a ceremony was held in their memory on Thursday, during which the leader of the Islamic Revolution Sayyed Ali Khamenei led the prayers.

On Tuesday, Sayyed Ali Khamenei said that the Israeli occupation will not be able to avoid its defeat by resorting to "desperate acts" like the airstrike it carried out on the Iranian consulate in Syria.

The leader emphasized that the Zionist regime will eventually "come close to collapse and dissolution. Desperate attempts like the actions the regime committed in Syria will not save them from defeat," vowing that they will certainly "be slapped for these acts."

He further affirmed, "Our courageous men will exact punishment upon the evil regime. We will ensure they regret this and other crimes, with the will of God."
