Blinken: US committed to "Israeli security"
US State Department says Blinken and Gantz discussed regional and security issues, while the latter stresses the "unbreakable" bond between the US and "Israel."
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken reiterated on Friday his country's commitment to "Israel's" security.
On Twitter, Blinken announced that he had a "fruitful discussion" with Israeli occupation Security Minister Benny Gantz.
Today, I met with Israeli Defense Minister @gantzbe.  We had a fruitful discussion about the U.S. commitment to Israeli security, regional challenges, and improving the lives of Israelis and Palestinians alike.

The US State Department mentioned that Blinken and Gantz discussed regional and security issues, including Iran.
For his part, Gantz stressed "the need to deepen our dialogue and cooperation, including on topics of military readiness to stop and face Iran's regional aggression."
The Israeli occupation Security Minister tweeted that "one thing remains constant – the unbreakable bond between the U.S. and 'Israel'."
Iran has repeatedly denied seeking to acquire a nuclear weapon and stressed that this contradicts its defense doctrine, which aims to achieve progress in nuclear technology for peaceful purposes.
The meeting comes at a time when Tehran and the major powers are putting diplomatic efforts to reach an agreement that would revive the 2015 nuclear agreement.
The negotiations collapsed following the US withdrawal from it, while Iran is seeking to lift economic sanctions on its people.
