Israeli media reported that an explosion took place this morning, Wednesday, at the entrance to "Beit Shikma" settlement, near Askalan, in the Gaza Strip.

According to the Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper, the security forces rushed to the scene after the explosion, without revealing other details about its causes.
The newspaper did not indicate any deaths or injuries as a result of the explosion and reported that initial estimates indicated that it was an incident of a "criminal" nature.
