Israeli occupation forces fired on a riverside park along al-Wazzani River in southern Lebanon on Wednesday, injuring the park’s owner, according to Al Mayadeen's correspondent.
Concurrently, an Israeli patrol also targeted a Lebanese Army post in Baraka Al-Naqqar, though no casualties were reported. Meanwhile, Israeli troops conducted a sweep with machine gun fire from the so-called Israeli Radar Outpost, aiming at homes in the town of Shebaa.
The Lebanese presidency, in a statement issued after a meeting between President Joseph Aoun, Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, and Prime Minister Nawaf Salam on Tuesday, reiterated its call for a full Israeli withdrawal from South Lebanon. The statement reaffirmed Lebanon’s commitment to UN Resolution 1701, despite "Israel’s" repeated violations.
'Israel' remains in five positions in S. Lebanon, violating deadline
The Israeli occupation army withdrew on Tuesday from all border villages in South Lebanon, except for five locations where it stated it would maintain a presence. This withdrawal coincides with the expiration of the deadline for implementing the ceasefire between Lebanon and "Israel."
A security source, speaking anonymously to Agence France-Presse, confirmed, "The Israeli army has withdrawn from all border villages except for five specified locations. The Lebanese Army is gradually deploying, but progress is hindered by the presence of explosives in some areas and damage to the roads."
Additionally, Al Mayadeen's correspondent in South Lebanon reported on Tuesday morning that Israeli occupation tanks and vehicles had once again advanced into the town of Kfar Chouba.
Our correspondent stressed that the occupation forces transported explosive materials by truck toward Kfar Chouba in preparation for imminent bombings in the area.
