An Al Mayadeen correspondent in eastern Lebanon reported on Sunday evening that continuous artillery shelling from positions held by Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham in the countryside of al-Qusayr, Syria, targeted the Lebanese border town of al-Qasr, north of Hermel district.

According to the report, an artillery shell fired by the militant group struck a house in Hawdh al-Assi, near Hosh al-Sayyid Ali, a village along the Lebanese-Syrian border.
One child was martyred and four other individuals were wounded in the bombardment.

Simultaneously, a Lebanese Army reconnaissance drone was seen patrolling the skies over Hermel and the border areas with Syria.
In a related development, the Lebanese Army handed over to the Red Cross, through Syrian authorities, the bodies of three fighters who were found in al-Qasr, according to the correspondent.
Hezbollah denied any involvement in recent events along the Lebanese-Syrian border, stating in a press release from its media relations office that it has "no connection to any incidents inside Syria."
The group reiterated its stance, emphasizing that it is not engaged in any activities within Syrian territory.
Last month, more than ten people were injured after shelling from Syria’s Qusayr countryside targeted border towns in Lebanon’s Hermel region.
According to the report, nearly 50 shells struck various towns in Hermel’s outskirts since the morning, with one rocket landing near a Lebanese Army post in Wadi Fisan. The source of the fire was identified as Syria’s Qusayr region.
In response, tribes from the Bekaa Valley destroyed a tank in the Syrian border town of Jarmash, as reported by Lebanon’s National News Agency. Activists also circulated footage showing the tribes downing a drone belonging to Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) over Hermel’s outskirts.
A day earlier, HTS militants launched an explosive-laden drone that detonated over Jarmash, while two rockets—also attributed to HTS—landed near the Lebanese town of al-Kawakh and its surrounding heights.
Amid rising tensions, Lebanese President Joseph Aoun and Syria’s transitional President Ahmad al-Sharaa agreed in a phone call on Friday to coordinate efforts to stabilize the border and prevent attacks on civilians.
