China FM urges Gaza blockade lifted to let uninterrupted aid pass
According to the top Chinese diplomat, China's humanitarian aid for Gaza has reached the Rafah crossing but faces obstacles and delays due to hindered access.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi urged for the lifting of the Gaza blockade to ensure the uninterrupted delivery of humanitarian aid, addressing reporters on Wednesday. This step is essential to fulfill the basic needs of Gaza's civilians.
"We call for the removal of the blockade of Gaza to ensure unhindered international corridors as a guarantee for the basic needs of civilians in Gaza," Wang said after a UN Security Council meeting,
Wang mentioned that China's humanitarian aid for Gaza has reached the Rafah crossing but is facing obstacles and delays in accessing the enclave due to "hindered and not very smooth access" through the crossing.

This comes shortly after Wang Yi announced during a meeting of the UN Security Council that China would dispatch additional humanitarian aid to Gaza.
"I'd like to announce that the Chinese government will provide to Gaza another batch of emergency humanitarian supplies," he informed the council's members.
He also expressed optimism that the conclusion of the current ceasefire in Gaza would not lead to renewed Israeli aggression.
"(A resumption) in fighting would only, most likely, turn into a calamity that devours the whole region," he said.
"China strongly hopes that the past days of pause will not be a hiatus before a new round of offensive but rather the beginning of further diplomatic efforts for a comprehensive and lasting ceasefire. China appeals to the international community to take a comprehensive and lasting ceasefire as an overriding priority," Wang stated during a UN Security Council meeting.
