Construction of research reactor in Isfahan to begin in few weeks
According to the Chairman of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, the research reactor will serve to carry out tests to fuel other reactors.
The chairman of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), Mohammad Eslami, said on Wednesday that the construction operation of the Isfahan Research Reactor is set to begin in the coming weeks.
Eslami told sources that the research reactor will serve to carry out tests to fuel other reactors.
He noted that in the last twenty years, Iran has been falsely accused of financing its nuclear program and activities for non-peaceful purposes. The AEOI chief pointed out that Iran is developing its nuclear programs with the sole aim of increasing the capacity of its power plants for generating electricity, as well as producing stable nuclear electricity equal to 1,000MW.
But the repetitive accusations made by the West and the pull-out from the JCPOA talks prompted Iran to shut off IAEA cameras and is not planning to turn them back on unless the negotiations are set to be resumed.
Where Iran has demonstrated good composure in complying with the many conditions set by the JCPOA, the west failed to stick to its side of the bargain.
Iran had made numerous compromises to abide by its commitments, mainly by complying with a series of limitations to its uranium enrichment activities and allowing cameras to be set up at its nuclear sites under the JCPOA.

Eslami went on to say in today's remarks that IAEA‘s inspectors are still monitoring all nuclear activities in the country and have thorough supervision on ‘safeguards’, stressing there are not any hidden activities on the side of the country in this regard, he stated.
Therefore, these false accusations against Iran that it is developing nuclear activities for non-peaceful purposes are futile, Eslami continued.
The AEOI is set to welcome any domestic or foreign companies that have the capabilities and potential or generating 1,000 megawatts of electricity in the country. "Fortunately, there are competent companies in the country that can support the plan for generating 10,000 MW electricity, so that AEOI will welcome any company which is ready to take part in a comprehensive program of the organization in the related field," he added.
