Alfonso Noya Martínez, President of The Cuban Institute of Radio and Television (ICRT), congratulated in a message Al Mayadeen Media Network on its tenth anniversary.

Martínez said in the letter: "With sincere joy, I cordially congratulate you and all members of the channel's family, on the occasion of the new anniversary of the launch of Al Mayadeen, on behalf of The Cuban Institute of Radio and Television and on my own behalf."

He added, "During these ten years, Al Mayadeen has become one of the most influential and widespread Arab news channels, thanks to its commitment to professional and objective media work, which made it a space for convergence, dialogue, and interaction, on the basis of mutual respect and equality."

Martínez continued, "Al Mayadeen defended the truth and confronted the slander and distortion campaigns led by the enemies of the progressive forces in the world. The channel also provided resolute support for the struggle of the Cuban people against the economic, commercial, and financial embargo imposed by the United States on our country for more than six decades."

At the conclusion of the letter, The Cuban Institute of Radio and Television Corporation president indicated that "in these years of the (Covid-19) pandemic, the activity of Al Mayadeen played an active role in educating the people about health, and in spreading the medical and scientific achievements of our countries to confront this deadly virus."

President Miguel Diaz-Canel,

Thank you for your kind words on the 10th anniversary of the launch of Al Mayadeen Media Network; an Arab channel and an organic part of the Global South’s media.

Such congratulations are not strange to the revolutionary president of revolutionary Cuba. We have known you, Mr. President, for years, as someone who holds Al Mayadeen dearly, and have known you for your outstanding humility, your journey in state-building, and your support for truthful, brave media qualities you yourself possess.

Mr. President, we at Al Mayadeen also hold you in high regard as well. How can we not, when you succeed two of the greatest historic figures in revolutionary Cuba, the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, and the great Raul Castro, who preserved the trust of the Revolution in his succession.

As we enter our second decade in Al Mayadeen Media Network, with its different languages, we affirm to you that we will stand firmly by our cultural and strategic principles, and remain committed to supporting “people everywhere, and at all times,” especially the great people of Cuba, its revolution, and its leadership that remains steadfast against injustice, disinformation, and the embargo imposed upon it. Soon, the Arab world and the Global South will come to know the greatness of this humane revolution and the heroic people of Cuba, through a series of documentaries produced by Al Mayadeen on the Cuban Revolution.

In the name of our family at Al Mayadeen, we will never forget Cuba's and your stance in particular by the just causes of mankind, especially the cause of the liberation of Palestine from the grip of the oppressive occupation. We thank you again, Mr. President, for your congratulations.

Warmest regards,

Ghassan Ben Jeddou,

CEO, Al Mayadeen Media Network,
