Cuba: Cheap politicking, opportunism dictate US foreign policy
Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez denounces the US decision to keep his country on the US list of state sponsors of terrorism.
Cuba's Foreign Minister, Bruno Rodriguez, denounced the US decision on Friday to keep his country on the list of state sponsors of terrorism, accusing Washington of adopting a cheap and opportunist policy toward Havana.
US President Joe Biden had said on Thursday that the United States was still reviewing Cuba's designation, despite "no new evidence" on the table.
The State Department's "counterterrorism" coordinator, John Godfrey, also said that the designation remained "under review".
"It's ongoing, and President Biden has said that he remains committed to policies that will advance the democratic aspirations of the Cuban people," he said.
Cuba's Foreign Minister took to Twitter and asserted that the US has no credible evidence to justify Cuba's inclusion on the terror list.
The US can't show credible evidence justifying Cuba's inclusion in State Department's unilateral list of States allegedly sponsoring terrorism. Cheap politicking & opportunism dictate the US foreign policy stands.
