Day 228: 35,647 killed, 79,852 injured in Gaza
Over the past 24 hours, the IOF committed five massacres against civilians and families in Gaza, killing 85 Palestinians and injuring 200 others.
The Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza released its daily report updating the Gaza death toll, which has risen to 35,647 Palestinians killed, and 79,852 injured by Israeli occupation forces.
Over the past 24 hours, the IOF committed five massacres against civilians and families in Gaza, killing 85 Palestinians and injuring 200 others.
Hundreds of victims are still stuck beneath the rubble and in the streets, while rescue teams and civil defense forces remain unable to reach them.
On the 228th day since October 7, the Israeli occupation forces continued their aggression against Gaza, killing dozens of Palestinians and injuring others, with many going missing as "Israel" bombs residential buildings, facilities, and infrastructure, leaving widespread destruction.
In a series of Israeli raids and artillery shelling on Beit Lahia, Khan Younis, Nuseirat Camp, al-Bureij Camp, and Jabalia refugee camp, alongside al-Zaytoun Neighborhood, Rafah city, and Sheikh Ajlin, many were killed, including women and children.
In the north of the Strip, since the early morning hours, the IOF has bombed several homes in Tal al-Zaatar in Jabalia camp.
They also targeted a house in Beit Lahia, killing three Palestinians and injuring others.
North Gaza experiencing 'full-blown famine'
The World Food Program (WFP) reported earlier this month that Palestinians in the northern Gaza Strip are experiencing "full-blown famine".
The United Nations agency's Executive Director Cindy McCain made the remark during an interview for NBC on May 5, describing what Palestinians are experiencing in the northern Gaza Strip as "horror".
Although the entire Gaza Strip is besieged by Israeli occupation forces, the northern Gaza Strip has been split from the rest of the territory, after Israeli occupation forces took control of the Netzarim Axis. This has hindered the flow of aid to the northern Gaza Strip, as Israeli occupation forces have had direct control over the gateway to the north, attacking aid convoys and Palestinians queuing for aid on multiple occasions.
"There is famine — full-blown famine — in the North, and it’s moving its way South," McCain declared.
Supplies to the northern Gaza Strip have been constricted since March by Israeli occupation forces, who in that period invaded multiple hospitals in the Gaza Strip, including the al-Shifa Medical Center, and assassinated Palestinian security officials managing aid delivery processes in the area.
