Gaza will rise again: Hamas

The Islamic Resistance Movement - Hamas confirmed today, Monday, that "Gaza, with its great people and strong will, will rise again to rebuild what the occupation has destroyed and tread on the path of steadfastness until it is defeated and an independent Palestinian state with al-Quds as its capital is established."

In a statement, the movement said the massive destruction depicted in images coming out of the strip, affecting the civilian infrastructure in all areas of Gaza, is "clear proof of the brutality of this fascist entity that is devoid of all human values."

Hamas added that "these brutal crimes unprecedented in modern time were carried out by the occupation government and its fascist army with the whole world watching and listening, which demands employing all international legal means to try the leaders of the occupation and its army as war criminals."

The statement pointed out that "the systematic crimes of the occupation, over the course of 471 days, did not succeed in shaking our people and their valiant Resistance and affecting their attachment to the land and confronting the aggression."

The ceasefire agreement between the Israeli occupation and Hamas took effect on January 19 at 8:30 local time (GMT+2).

Only 30 min after the scheduled ceasefire took effect, Israeli forces continued their aggression against different parts of the enclave.

Under the pretext of Hamas not "fully abiding by the terms of the agreement," the Israeli military stated that its operations in Gaza were ongoing, emphasizing that a ceasefire with Hamas had not yet taken effect.

"The IDF continues to strike within the Gaza area at this time. According to the prime minister's directives, the ceasefire will not come into effect until Hamas fulfills its commitments," Israeli military spokesperson Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari said in a televised statement.

Hamas explained at the time that it was committed to the ceasefire agreement and that the delay was due to technical difficulties.

The Israeli genocide has caused widespread devastation, leaving tens of thousands dead, injured, or missing and displacing millions of residents.
