Deal reached to ensure Palestinians return to northern Gaza on Monday
A mediated deal was reached for the return of Palestinians to the northern Gaza Strip, as well as several key exchanges between the Resistance and "Israel".
An agreement has been reached between the Palestinian Resistance and "Israel", which would see the return of Palestinians to their homes in the northern Gaza Strip on Monday, the spokesperson for the Qatari Foreign Ministry Majed al-Ansari said.
Al-Ansari said that the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas has agreed to release three Israeli captives before Friday, January 31, 2025.
This special exchange will take place after the Israeli regime violated the clauses of the ceasefire agreement, by blocking the way of Palestinians coming from southern areas who were headed to their homes in the northern Gaza Strip. The Israeli regime said that it would continue to block the path of Palestinians until Israeli captive Arbel Yehud is released.
Yehud was being held by the Palestinian Islamic Jihad's (PIJ) al-Quds Brigades, after being captured on October 7, 2023. The Israeli regime pushed for Yehud's release on Saturday under the pretext of her civilian status, however, the Palestinian Resistance considered her to be a soldier serving with Israeli occupation forces.
Now, mediators facilitated an agreement, which would see the release of Yehud and two other unnamed captives before this coming Friday in exchange for the release of a far greater number of Palestinian detainees and more importantly the return of citizens to the northern Gaza Strip on Monday.
The Palestinian Resistance will also release another three captives on Saturday, as per the original ceasefire agreement.
It is worth noting that Yehud works for the infamous NSO Group Technologies, an Israeli company that manufactured the Pegasus spyware.
Status of captives made known
Moreover, al-Ansari said that the new arrangement also saw the Palestinian Resistance reveal the status of a number of captives meant to be released in the first stage of the ceasefire agreement.
Meanwhile, the Israeli regime will hand over a list including the names of 400 citizens it has detained since October 7, 2023, every Sunday until the first stage is over.
In a statement, Hamas also confirmed that it provided Qatari and Egyptian mediators with the specific status of every captive that will be released in this stage of the agreement.
On the other hand, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Israeli occupation forces would allow Palestinians to cross into northern Gaza on Monday.
