A video released by the Ezzeddine al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, published Tuesday a video showcasing an ambush against an Israeli occupation force in the al-Zanna area, east of Khan Younis, in the southern Gaza Strip.

The ambush took place on Saturday and was named "the Ambush of the Righteous."

One of the al-Qassam Brigades fighters confirmed that what was seen in the video was only one aspect of the operation and that what happened and was not documented was "much bigger," stressing that this is "a small sample of what the defeated occupation army is suffering in Gaza."

He stated that the mujahideen prepared a tight ambush that afflicted a platoon of occupation soldiers, noting that the Resistance fighters inflicted serious casualties and also dealt heavy damage to the vehicles that came to support the infantry force.

The occupation "is covering up its losses, imposing its control over its public, and only informing the families of the dead in closed circles in line with Netanyahu's unique decision, which sacrifices his soldiers and captives day after day, in order to preserve his position and the well-being of his son Yair."

The Resistance fighter went on to address Netanyahu by saying: "This is Khan Younis, and specifically al-Zanna, which you claim you leveled to the ground and were safe in it."

The footage shows the al-Qassam fighters planning to target an occupation infantry platoon after returning from its mission, by planting explosives near them.

It also shows the beginning of the arrival of the soldiers - a commando infantry platoon - consisting of 30 soldiers, to the ambush area, where the al-Qassam fighters killed 5 soldiers at point blank while the sound of the soldiers' screams echoed in the area.

When the soldiers fled to one of the houses, which the resistance had booby-trapped earlier, they were met with yet another ambush that increased the death toll to 10.

Al-Qassam's fighters also attacked and damaged the vehicles that came in support of the infantry force after it fell for the ambush using the infamous Yassin-105 anti-tank RPGs.

Hamas ceased to exist

According to "Israel's" Security Minister Yoav Gallant, Israeli forces withdrew from Khan Younis in southern Gaza on Sunday "to prepare for future missions, including... in Rafah."

Gallant claimed that Israeli troops were pulled out after months of violent warfare because "Hamas ceased to exist as a military framework" in Khan Younis.

Herzi Halevi, the IOF Chief of staff, said that despite pulling out from Gaza, the battle against Hamas is far from done.

He also said that if a truce is reached as part of a prisoner exchange deal, the IOF will be prepared to resume fighting and that returning the Israeli captives held by the Palestinian Resistance in Gaza is a more pressing priority than other objectives.

In a press statement, Halevi argued that "Israel" was fighting the war "differently" and in a different matter than its "predecessors."

“The war in Gaza continues, and we are far from stopping."
