DPRK's Kim Yo-jong warns US aid to Ukraine risks 'nuclear disaster'
Kim Yo-Jong slams the US for providing Ukraine with nearly $8 billion in military aid and disregarding Russia's warnings.
DPRK official Kim Yo-jong has issued a stark warning about the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, foreseeing that continued US military support for Kiev could lead to a "nuclear disaster."
Kim, the sister of the DPRK's leader, criticized the US for providing Ukraine with nearly $8 billion in military aid, calling President Joe Biden's decision "foolish" and accusing the US of disregarding Russia's warnings.
She argued that these actions will prolong the Ukraine conflict and prompt further "adventurous military action" by Kiev.
In her statement, Kim urged the US to remove Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky from power, whom she described as a "foolish and silly guy," adding that "calamity is inevitable unless [the] insanity of Zelensky is stopped."
Kim further warned the US and its Western allies not to ignore or underestimate Russia's warnings, alluding to Russian President Vladimir Putin's recent statements on nuclear policy.
Nuclear rules revamped
During a meeting of Russia's national security council earlier this month, Putin suggested expanding the criteria for a nuclear strike to include a "massive" missile or air attack on Russia or its closest ally, Belarus.
He also stressed that any aggression by a non-nuclear state, supported by a nuclear power, should be treated as a joint attack.

In June, Putin and DPRK leader Kim Jong-un signed the Treaty on Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, pledging mutual assistance in the event of foreign aggression.
Putin did not rule out the possibility of further military cooperation with DPRK, pointing to Western nations' continued supply of advanced weaponry to Ukraine.
As tensions rise, Kim Yo-jong questioned whether the US and the West are prepared to deal with the consequences of their "fearless war gamble against Russia, a nuclear superpower."
