Elon Musk confirms Twitter interfered in elections
Twitter CEO Musk vows, “Twitter 2.0 will be far more effective, transparent, and even-handed”.
Twitter CEO Elon Musk admitted on Wednesday that Twitter "interfered in elections" through its content moderation procedures.
In a recent tweet, Elon Musk said that Twitter had "failed in trust and safety for a very long time and has intervened in elections."
Musk has promised to share internal information in order to rebuild public trust in the corporation.
How did it happen?
Twitter CEO Elon Musk responded to another user's claim that Twitter has "interfered in elections." The remark came after Reuters published an interview with Yoel Roth, the extreme leftist former head of Trust and Safety, in which he argued that the platform has not become "safer" under Musk.
According to one user's response to the Reuters tweet, Twitter has "proven itself to be unsafe over the previous ten years and has lost users' trust." "Exactly," Musk said in response. "Long-time users are well aware that Twitter has long failed in terms of trust and safety, and has intervened in elections."
Twitter has shown itself to be not safe for the past 10 years and has lost users’ trust. The past team of "trust and safety” is a disgrace, so it doesn’t have any right to judge what is being done now. They had a chance, but they sold their souls to a corporation.

Simultaneously, Musk vowed that “Twitter 2.0” will be “far more effective, transparent, and even-handed.”
A flashback
Twitter took a hit and has long been accused of meddling in elections, most notably in the United States. The platform has also notoriously blocked the New York Post for 16 days when a piece on Hunter Biden, President Joe Biden's son, was published.
Many celebrities and public figures, including Republican actor James Woods, have been banned from Twitter for sharing content that the platform alleges could "interfere" with elections.
Twitter suppressed tweets from former President Donald Trump throughout the 2020 election, finally blacklisting him.
In addition, the platform added a link encouraging visitors to "learn about US 2020 election security efforts."
