Enemy UAVs within range of Iran's Bavar 373 defense system: Army chief
The Iranian Army Commander says the development of the Bavar 373 was a great achievement that required a combination of knowledge and complicated technology.
Iranian Army Commander, Brigadier General Abdolrahim Mousavi, warned on Sunday that enemy drones are within the range of Iran’s Bavar 373 defense system.
Mousavi pointed out that the development of the highly advanced Bavar 373 defense system was a great achievement that required a combination of knowledge and complicated technology.
The army commander indicated that the hegemony of western media prevents Iran from showing its defensive achievements to the world, underlining that the Bavar 373 system is capable of targeting offensive drones at a range of 304 km.
The Brigadier General also congratulated the Iranian Air Defense Force and all companies and universities involved in developing the Bavar 373 system.
It is noteworthy that the system was first unveiled in August 2019. The range of its detection radar increased from 350 to 450 km, whereas its tracking range has risen from 260 to 400 km.
In addition, Iran's long-range air defense system is capable of detecting up to 100 targets, tracking 60 and engaging with six at the same time.
Iran's hypersonic ballistic missile able to reach 'Tel Aviv' in 4 mins
This comes as the Tehran Times news website reported on Friday that Iran's new hypersonic ballistic missile is able to reach "Tel Aviv" in less than four minutes.
Amir Ali Hajizadeh, the Aerospace Division chief of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), announced on Thursday that Iran has built a hypersonic ballistic missile that can penetrate advanced aerial defense shields and hit specific targets.
The Tehran Times said the new hypersonic missile can fly at more than five times the speed of sound (at a rate of 3,800 mph), adding that it is more advanced than the Sejil missile.
While Sejil is able to reach "Tel Aviv" in less than seven minutes if launched from Natanz, according to the Iranian news website, the new hypersonic missile can reach the same destination in less than four minutes.
Hajizadeh told Tasnim news agency on Friday that the missile has been tested, adding that it will be unveiled "in the future and in a proper time."
