EU sanctions an Israeli bid and 'cover-up' for Gaza genocide: PIJ
The Palestinian Islamic Jihad condemns the imposition of a framework of sanctions against the Resistance, and the adding of six people to the sanctions list.
The Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement announced in a statement their condemnation following the "decision of the European Council to impose a framework of sanctions on the [Palestinian] Islamic Jihad Movement and Hamas, including the listing of six individuals for sanctions."
According to the statement, the decision has been anticipated and "is not surprising, holds no value, and clearly demonstrates bias in favor of the Israeli occupation." Doing "Israel's" bidding, the European decision, according to the PIJ, offers "Israel" a "political cover for the ongoing holocaust against our [Palestinian] people," which comes in conjunction with the "military and intelligence support" for "Tel Aviv" in the face of the people of Palestine.
"The Palestinian Resistance factions defend the rights of a people whose land has been plundered, and who were forcefully displaced, and has been subjected to genocide for 76 years," the statement read adding that the Resistance "will continue to fulfill our duty until victory and liberation."
In controversial statement, Borrell claims 'Israel' 'created' Hamas
The European Union's top diplomat, Josep Borrell, said on Friday that the Israeli occupation "created" and "financed" Palestinian Resistance movement Hamas.
Israeli occupation Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has in recent days reaffirmed his opposition to the creation of a Palestinian state, drawing criticism from his US ally, which is still advocating a "two-state solution."
"We believe that a two-state solution must be imposed from outside to bring peace. Although I insist, Israel is reaffirming its refusal (of this solution), and to prevent it they have gone so far as to create Hamas themselves," Borrell claimed.
"Hamas has been financed by the Israeli government to try to weaken the Palestinian Authority," he added during a speech in Spanish at the University of Valladolid in central Spain.
