Ex-Justice arrested over decree for Bolsonaro to change elections
The governor of Brasilia, Ibaneis Rocha, is also under arrest after being removed from his position.
During the search of the house of former Minister of Justice of Brazil and former Secretary of Public Security of the Federal District, Anderson Torres, the federal police of Brazil discovered a decree allowing ex-Brazilian president Jair Bolsonaro to alter the results of the presidential elections on October 30.
According to the Folha de Sao Paulo newspaper, the Federal Supreme Court issued an arrest warrant against Torres this week for his connection to the riots that took place on January 8 in Brasilia.
The governor of Brasilia, Ibaneis Rocha, was also removed from his position last Sunday by the Supreme Court. However, Torres was present in the US when the events took place in Brazil.
The Brazilian equal of the Capitol riots
In light of the riots that resembled a creepy similarity to the January 6 Capitol riots instigated by former president Donald Trump, Brazilian president Luiz Ignacio Lula Da Silva said on Thursday: "I am convinced that the door of the Planalto (presidential) palace was opened for people to enter because there are no broken doors," the President said in Brasilia. "This means that someone facilitated their entry," he added.
The riots carried out by followers of Bolsonaro lasted for approximately three hours on January 8 before Brazilian security forces were able to disperse them and take control of Parliament. Brazilian security forces cleared riot camps Monday and arrested 1,500 people as President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva condemned "acts of terrorism" after far-right supporters of former President Jair Bolsonaro broke into the country's Planalto presidential palace, Congress, and Supreme court building on Sunday.
It is worth noting that at the time of the riots, Lula was in Sao Paolo on an official trip. The Brazilian President told a press conference following the incident that "these vandals, whom we could call fanatical fascists, did what has never been done in the history of this country," adding that "all these people who did this will be found and they will be punished."

Furthermore, Lula stated "This genocidist [Bolsonaro] ... is encouraging this via social media from Miami," reaffirming that "everybody knows there are various speeches of the ex-president encouraging this."
