Exclusive: Iraqi PM to soon visit Saudi Arabia and Iran
Several important files, including diplomatic relations between Saudi Arabia and Iran, will be addressed during al-Kadhimi’s upcoming visits as per the sources.
Sources to Al Mayadeen confirmed that Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi will soon visit Saudi Arabia and Iran successively.
The sources added that al-Kadhimi’s successive visits to the two countries fall within the framework of the latest talks which were held in Baghdad between Riyadh and Tehran.
Several important files, including diplomatic relations between Saudi Arabia and Iran, will be addressed during al-Kadhimi’s upcoming visits as per the sources.
On June 16, Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian held a phone conversation with Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein during which the latter confirmed that "his country's government is determined to facilitate direct talks between Saudi Arabia and Iran in Baghdad."
It is worth noting that Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi, on June 7, revealed that the Iran-Saudi talks taking place in Baghdad have reached advanced stages.
