FBI Director to be held in contempt for refusing to submit Biden docs
Two US Republicans subpoenaed the FBI after they received "legally protected and highly credible unclassified whistleblower disclosures" pointing to the possible involvement of Biden in a bribery scheme as VP.
US House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer confirmed on Tuesday that measures will be taken against FBI Director Christopher Wray to hold him in contempt of Congress after the FBI refused to turn over documents related to US President Joe Biden and his family.
In a statement, Comer said: "Today the FBI informed the committee that it will not provide the unclassified statements subpoenaed by the committee. The FBI’s decision to stiff-arm Congress and hide this information from the American people is obstructionist and unacceptable".
"While I have a call scheduled with FBI Director Wray tomorrow to discuss his response further, the committee has been clear in its intent to protect congressional oversight authorities and will now be taking steps to hold the FBI director in contempt of Congress for refusing to comply with a lawful subpoena," he added.
A subpoena was issued earlier this month by Comer to Wray seeking a document pertaining to Biden's term as vice president and a foreign individual concerning an alleged exchange of funds for favorable policy outcomes.

This also follows amid a string of investigations aimed at Biden and his family against corruption accusations, but this particular subpoena marks a clear step further as it is the first to make direct mention of Biden. "The American people need to know if President Biden sold out the United States of America to make money for himself," Comer said in a statement at the time.
