Iranian Noor News agency revealed that the fifth round of talks between the senior representatives of Iran and Saudi Arabia in Iraq took place last Thursday.

The agency said that the officials of the two countries have drawn a clearer vision for the resumption of relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia.

Noor News indicated that high-ranking Iraqi and Omani officials played an important role in arranging joint meetings between representatives of Tehran and Riyadh.

The agency noted that high-ranking officials from the Iranian Supreme National Security Council and the head of the Saudi intelligence service participated in the tour.

Regarding the atmosphere of the talks between the two parties, the agency pointed out that it was positive, constituting a step toward resuming bilateral relations.

A round of talks is expected shortly between the foreign ministers of Iran and Saudi Arabia.

During his visit to Tehran last week, Iraqi Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein, in response to a question about the fifth round of talks between Iran and Saudi Arabia, confirmed that these talks are in process and have been suspended for a while.

Last month, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian told Al Mayadeen that Saudi Arabia previously initiated the severing of relations with Iran, adding that there are different remarks against Saudi policies, but relations will not be affected.

It is noteworthy that Iranian-Saudi relations are witnessing development in recent times, represented by holding five rounds of talks in Iraq.
