Al Mayadeen's correspondent reported that Israeli forces carried out airstrikes in the southern suburbs of Beirut, targeting areas including Hadath and Haret Hreik, with one strike hitting a residential building near the al-Hassanain Mosque.

Our correspondent added that Israeli warplanes conducted a new airstrike earlier today, targeting Haret Hreik.

It is worth noting that Israeli drones and fighter jets launched on Saturday more than 11 consecutive airstrikes targeting the Lebanese capital of Beirut's southern suburb and surrounding areas. The strikes hit residential buildings in the neighborhoods of Haret Hreik, Burj al-Barajneh, and Choueifat, leveling them to the ground.

South Lebanon faces relentless Israeli airstrikes

In southern Lebanon, the correspondent stated that Israeli warplanes launched a series of intense airstrikes on the city of Nabatieh early Sunday morning, resulting in the killing of four people.

Nabatieh, the second most populated city in southern Lebanon, is now nearly empty, with its main demographic today consisting of medical workers and the elderly who are limited in mobility and were unable to leave.

The United Nations estimates that a quarter of Lebanon's territory is now under Israeli evacuation orders.

Concurrently, artillery fire also struck the southern outskirts of al-Khiam and its plains, as well as the town of Shebaa.

Additionally, Israeli airstrikes targeted the towns of al-Taybeh and Deir Siryan.

The escalation comes as "Israel" continues its brutal aggression against Lebanon, impacting various regions across the country. The death toll since the onset of the offensive on October 8, 2023, has reached 2,448, with 11,471 reported injuries.
