The Coordination Framework in Iraq stressed on Wednesday the importance of expediting the process of naming a presidential candidate and the formation of a service government that addresses the crises in the country.

The Framework said in a statement that a number of political issues were discussed in the meeting, foremost of which is the course of the ongoing talks with the rest of the national forces in order to complete constitutional obligations, decide on the presidential candidate, and form a government that addresses the citizens' services and security issues.

The statement added that attendees reiterated their position on the necessity of respecting institutions, including judicial and legislative authorities, rejecting all forms of transgression against them and not obstructing them from performing their constitutional duties.

The leaders of the Coordination Framework called on the political forces to work together to safeguard democratic achievements, continue constructive dialogue, and form a government capable of overcoming the challenges that the country is facing, especially regarding energy, water scarcity, and failure to approve the federal budget.

Additionally, the Iraqi party called on the "masses to stand with all the legal and constitutional steps to form the government and to defend the democratic path in which we all believe."

Days ago, the Coordination Framework had affirmed its support for any constitutional path to address the political crises in Iraq and achieve the people's interests, including early elections, stipulating a national consensus in its regard, and the provision of a safe environment for its conduct, provided that it's preceded by work that respects the constitutional institutions.
