The French Foreign Ministry declared on Tuesday that Iran’s nuclear proposals “do not constitute a reasonable basis for any accord.”

“The proposals presented by Iran last week do not constitute a reasonable basis that is compatible with the objective of a rapid conclusion while respecting the interests of all,” the ministry said in a statement.

In the same context, the ministry’s spokesperson Anne-Claire Legendre claimed that “Iran is continuing its nuclear program at an extremely worrying direction.”

According to France, proposals submitted by Iran at talks in Vienna last week aimed at reviving the 2015 nuclear deal fall well short of what is needed.

It is noteworthy that Iran presented two drafts at the Vienna meetings concerning the abolition of sanctions and nuclear commitments.

Iran's chief negotiator, Ali Bagheri Kani, said that Iran's submission of these two drafts is "evidence of its seriousness in negotiations."

In a statement to the Italian news agency ANSA, Baqeri Kani said that Iran will not back down from its demands to reactivate the 2015 nuclear agreement and to abolish the US embargo on its people.
