Gas leakage in Beirut restaurant results in horrifying fire
A leakage in a reportedly unlicensed restaurant in Lebanon's capital killed at least people on Tuesday.
A fire caused by gas leakage from canisters used in an unlicensed restaurant in Beirut, Lebanon, on Tuesday, killed at least eight people, according to authorities.
The state-owned National News Agency (NNA), citing the Beirut Fire Brigade, said that "eight victims died of suffocation inside the restaurant."
The restaurant was set ablaze, reportedly after one of the workers attempted to ignite a stovetop, which in turn sparked the unnoticed gas leakage.

NNA said that "a gas leak caused an explosion in the restaurant," citing the same source from the Fire Brigade. Firefighters successfully put the fire out, however, at least eight people died by suffocation in the incident.
