The Ministry of Health in Gaza announced today that it has received the bodies of 45 Palestinian martyrs released by the Israeli occupation through the International Committee of the Red Cross, bringing the total number of recovered bodies to 90.
In a statement, the ministry confirmed that its medical teams are continuing to handle the bodies in accordance with approved medical and forensic procedures to complete examinations, documentation, and the eventual handover to the families of the martyrs.
Earlier, the ministry reaffirmed that its staff remain committed to fulfilling their humanitarian and professional duties despite severe working conditions and limited resources, emphasizing their mission to uphold human dignity, both in life and in death.
The International Committee of the Red Cross urged all parties to ensure the dignified handling of human remains throughout the ongoing transfer process, as part of the implementation of the ceasefire agreement currently in effect.
Israeli regime cuts Gaza aid
The Israeli occupation has informed the United Nations that it will only permit 300 aid trucks, half of the previously agreed amount, to enter the Gaza Strip starting Wednesday, and that no fuel or gas will be allowed except for limited humanitarian infrastructure needs, according to a note obtained by Reuters and confirmed by the UN.
Olga Cherevko, spokesperson for the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in Gaza, confirmed that the organization had received the official notice from the Israeli COGAT, the branch of the Israeli military responsible for coordinating aid deliveries into the besieged enclave.
Last Friday, COGAT had stated that it expected around 600 aid trucks to enter Gaza daily under the ceasefire arrangement. However, in its latest communication, COGAT claimed that the new restrictions were imposed because “Hamas violated the agreement regarding the release of the bodies of the hostages.”
'Israel' violates Gaza ceasefire
The Israeli occupation forces have violated the recently declared ceasefire in Gaza, launching new drone strikes across the Strip that killed seven Palestinians and wounded several others, according to Al Mayadeen’s correspondent and Palestinian media outlets.
Israeli media outlets admitted that the occupation's military resumed its attacks on Tuesday, just three days after the ceasefire came into effect, reigniting tensions amid ongoing humanitarian devastation in the besieged territory.
Our correspondents confirmed that five Palestinians were martyred after being targeted by Israeli drones in the al-Shujaiya neighborhood east of Gaza City.
Al Mayadeen’s correspondent in Gaza also reported that Israeli occupation forces struck the Halawa displacement camp in Jabalia al-Balad, north of the Strip, injuring several displaced civilians.
In the southern Gaza Strip, a Palestinian man was killed and another was injured in a drone strike on al-Fakhari, east of Khan Younis. Israeli drones also dropped bombs near Aabasan Clinic and on Abu Salah Street in Aabasan al-Kabira, further heightening fear among residents attempting to return to their homes.
