Gaza Resistance ambushes IOF, bombards positions along Netzarim axis
The Palestinian Resistance in Gaza continues confronting invading Israeli soldiers across the Strip, engaging in close-range battles and complex ambushes.
The al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement (PIJ), announced that its fighters caught an Israeli infantry force of 12 soldiers in a complex ambush in northern Gaza on Sunday.
In detail, the al-Quds Brigades detonated a house previously rigged with multiple anti-personnel explosive devices, where the enemy force had barricaded itself in the al-Ezba area west of Beit Hanoun. Upon the arrival of rescue forces to the ambush site, a Thaqib explosive device was detonated on a Merkava military tank.
The statement followed an Israeli acknowledgment of the deaths of an officer and two soldiers from the Kfir Brigade during confrontations in the northern Gaza Strip.
Israeli media revealed that the officer who was killed held the position of deputy company commander.
Reports indicated that an Israeli military unit fell into an ambush in Beit Hanoun, northern Gaza, where an explosive device detonated near them, resulting in the deaths of the officer and two soldiers, and injuring another soldier moderately.
Following the initial explosion that caused the casualties, a second Israeli unit arrived at the scene, only to encounter another explosive device. However, no additional injuries were reported in the second incident.
Israeli Army radio stated that since the beginning of the 162nd Division's military operation in northern Gaza, a total of 38 Israeli soldiers from the division have been killed.
In another statement, the Brigades announced its fighters engaged in fierce close-range confrontations using medium-range weapons and anti-personnel explosives with occupation soldiers fortified in a house in the Abdul Daim area west of Beit Hanoun as well.
Meanwhile, the al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, the military wing of the Fatah movement, targeted occupation soldiers and vehicles stationed in the Netzarim axis near the Palace of Justice with short-range 107mm rockets.
