Germany banned Abu Sitta to hide genocide complicity: Pal. Conference
The Palestinian Conference has condemned Germany and the EU's decision to ban Ghassan Abu Sitta from Europe.
The Palastina Kongress (Palestine Conference), which was held in April in Berlin, Germany, demanded on Saturday the end of the genocide in Gaza and Europe's complicity and collaboration with the Israeli occupation.
On its Instagram page, the Conference denounced Ghassan Abu Sitta's entry ban to Paris and the one-year Europe ban imposed by Germany, accusing the latter of knowing "no bounds in its systematic silencing of Palestinian and pro-Palestinian voices."
The statement further highlighted the 43 days during which Abu Sitta volunteered in Gazan hospitals during "Israel's" genocide, as well as his recent appointment as the University of Glasgow's Rector.
It is worth noting that Dr. Abu Sitta was also banned from attending the Palestine Conference in Berlin on April 12, before having a one-year entry ban to all of Europe.
According to the Conference, banning Abu Sitta, an eyewitness to the genocide, from Germany and Europe, further proves that the "German state and the EU want to silence the truth and their own complicity in the ongoing genocide in Palestine."
Fortress Europe's censorship
Earlier on Saturday, Dr. Abu Sitta took to X to announce that he was barred from entering France while at Charles De Gaulle Airport.
Abu Sitta, scheduled to speak before the French Senate, expressed frustration as authorities cited a purported one-year ban imposed by Germany on his entry to Europe.
In the social media post, he said, "I am at Charles De Gaule airport. They are preventing me from entering France. I am supposed to speak at the French Senate today. They say the Germans put a 1 year ban on my entry to Europe."

In another post, Abu Sitta lamented what he described as "Fortress Europe" silencing witnesses to the ongoing genocide, while "Israel" continues to target and kill them even within prison walls.

Simultaneously, human rights activist Salah Hamouri affirmed to Al Mayadeen that Dr. Ghassan Abu Sitta was informed at Charles De Gaulle Airport of a German decision to prohibit his entry. Hamouri further stated that Dr. Abu Sitta has been notified of a comprehensive ban on his entry to European countries. In further detail, he informed Al Mayadeen that Abu Sitta's phone had been seized.
The detention of Dr. Abu Sitta, as reported by Hamouri, comes in the wake of Germany's recent decision to bar him from entering the Schengen area for one year.
