The unlawful Gaza Humanitarian Foundation's departure is "deserved for an inhumane institution," Hamas stated on Sunday after the Israeli- and US-backed organization, whose sites constituted massacre traps for thousands of aid-seeking Palestinians, announced it was shutting down its operations across the strip.

In a statement, the Palestinian Resistance said the GHF's operations collapsed alongside the genocidal project and engineered starvation campaign it sought in partnership with the Israeli occupation.

Hamas asserted that the Palestinian people view the organization as a symbol of the occupation’s failure, alongside its partners, to impose facts on the ground based on Israeli terms.

Since its arrival in Gaza, Hamas recalled, the organization functioned as part of the occupation’s security architecture, employing distribution mechanisms that lacked any humanitarian standards.

Hamas accused the NGO of creating dangerous and degrading conditions for starving Palestinians, contributing to the deaths and injuries of thousands due to sniper fire and deliberate targeting by Israeli occupation forces, which constitutes complicity in the ongoing genocide.

The statement concluded with a call urging international legal bodies and courts to pursue accountability for the organization and those running it, demanding they be held responsible for their crimes against the Palestinian people.

The movement stressed that ensuring such entities are prosecuted is essential to prevent the repetition of such tragedies and to protect humanity from organized international terrorism.

GHF unmasked

The GHF, the sole "aid" organization approved by the Israeli regime, began operations in Gaza following persistent calls for the entry of humanitarian aid to the Strip's starved population.

Between May 27 and August 10, United Nations data showed that at least 1,373 Palestinians have been killed while seeking food, including 859 killed in the immediate vicinity of GHF distribution points and 514 along the routes of aid convoys.

Moreover, Gaza’s Ministry of Interior warned residents that the US-backed organization was operating as a security and intelligence front under the guise of humanitarian work. According to the ministry, the organization’s “new system” for aid distribution is a cover for intelligence-gathering operations. It accused the group of “practicing a security and intelligence role under the guise of humanitarian work and providing assistance.”

UN rights experts also voiced alarm over reports of "enforced disappearances" of starving Palestinians seeking food at distribution sites run by the GHF. In a joint statement, seven independent experts detailed having received reports that several individuals, including one child, had "forcibly disappeared" after they had gone to aid distribution sites in the southern Gaza city of Rafah.

These are only a few examples of the atrocities committed by the Israeli occupation, the US, and their partner, which was forced into Gaza despite warnings of its origins and the role it would later play.
