Israeli media reported that at least two Israelis were wounded in a gunfire incident on the border with Egypt on Saturday morning.
The media indicated that the injuries were evacuated for medical treatment, noting that the severity of their injuries is still unknown.
The Israeli occupation military confirmed that it is currently investigating the circumstances of the shooting that was described by the media as "a serious security incident."
The Israeli occupation army reported an exchange of fire between Israeli soldiers and gunmen near the "Nitzana" crossing, after which reinforcements were called onto the area.
The Israeli Walla news website said a number of Israeli soldiers were wounded in the shooting that took place in an area under the responsibility of the "Edom" division, adding that the injured were evacuated to the "Soroka" hospital.
Some media reports said the Israeli occupation imposed military censorship on the incident, pointing out that it is still unclear whether the shooting was a Resistance operation or not.
