Hamas Member to Al Mayadeen: We Won’t Give Up Our Arms
A member of the Hamas political bureau, Mahmoud al-Zahhar, confirms that the Israeli occupation is trying to consolidate the equation of security in return for food and medicine.
A member of the Hamas political bureau, Mahmoud al-Zahhar, confirmed to Al Mayadeen that the occupation tried to besiege the Resistance in Gaza, yet it failed.
Al-Zahhar added that what the occupation leaders are proposing concerning Gaza is a failed and rejected attempt to consolidate the equation of security in return for food and medicine.
He also stressed out that they will not give up their weapons, or accept the method of begging the Israeli occupation is trying to impose.
For his part, Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid proposed, during the Conference of the International Institute for Counter-Terrorism, what he called an advanced humanitarian rehabilitation plan for the Gaza Strip, which he tried to promote in exchange for a commitment to lull and the prevention of Hamas from self-armament.
Lapid presented a comprehensive scheme of the Israeli policy toward the Gaza Strip, which constitutes an economic process that extends over several years in exchange for security. The scheme also stipulates that the restoration of infrastructure in the Gaza Strip is conditional on Hamas' commitment to a long-term lull.
Lapid also maintained in his speech that there is no intention to negotiate with Hamas and that "Israel" considers the Palestinian Authority, not Hamas, the representative body of the Palestinians.
It is noteworthy that the Israeli media said that the recent escalation in the Gaza Strip and the response of the Palestinian Resistance cannot but be of great concern to the Israeli occupation security and military institutions.
