Harris campaign claims Trump is 'running scared' from debate platform
Harris' campaign suggested that Trump's announcement of debates on September 4 is an indication of his fear.
US Vice President Kamala Harris' campaign expressed on Saturday disagreement with former President Donald Trump's choice to host a debate on Fox News on September 4. They urged him to adhere to prior commitments for debates scheduled on September 10.
"He needs to stop playing games and show up to the debate he already committed to on Sept 10. The Vice President will be there one way or the other to take the opportunity to speak to a prime time national audience," the campaign said on X.

The campaign suggested that Trump's announcement of debates on September 4 is an indication of his fear.
"We're happy to discuss further debates after the one both campaigns have already agreed to," the headquarters added in response to Trump's comments that there must be several rounds of debates.

For several weeks, Trump and Harris have struggled to agree on a date and channel for the debates.
The second round was initially set for September 10 on ABC News, with incumbent US President Joe Biden participating.
However, since Biden has withdrawn from the race, Trump claimed that the earlier agreements are now irrelevant.
He also accused ABC News of favoring Democrats and disseminating false information.
