Hezbollah attacked 2,295 Israeli targets: Israeli research
The Israeli Alma research center surveys Hezbollah's 2,295 attacks on Israeli targets and their strategic significance.
Hezbollah has launched 2,295 attacks against Israeli targets from a period ranging between October 8, 2023, and July 1, 2024, the Israeli military research center Alma found.
According to the research center, the majority of the attacks attempted to strike or struck targets within 0-5 km from the Israeli line of withdrawal from Lebanon. In detail, 94.3% of the attacks survived by the center were conducted in the aforementioned region.
The rest of the attacks were distributed according to the following:
- 3.1% of the attacks were launched against targets located 5-10 km away from the line of withdrawal.
- 1.9% of the attacks were launched against targets located 10-20 km away from the line of withdrawal.
- 0.65% of the attacks were launched against targets located 20-30 km away from the line of withdrawal.
- 0.05% of the attacks were launched against targets located more than 30 km away from the line of withdrawal.
Although the research center did not provide the raw data, a simple calculation will produce the following number of attacks spread across the five aforementioned regions: 2,164 - 71 - 44 - 15 - 1 attack(s), respectively.
Moreover, the research center said that the most heavily targeted area was the Israeli-occupied Lebanese Shebaa Farms, which saw a total of 265 attacks.
The Metulla settlement, the occupation city of Kiryat Shmona, and the Manara settlement saw a total of 49, 45, and 30 attacks respectively.
Alma said that its calculations are based on the number of reported incidents and do not include the number of rockets or munitions fired in each attack, adding that "these numbers might appear lower than the perceived impact" of Hezbollah's attacks.

Hezbollah's long-range attacks retaliation to Israeli assassinations
Additionally, the research pointed out that when Hezbollah extends its attacks past the 5 km range, the operations are usually in response to Israeli assassinations of Resistance leaders and fighters.
It pointed to Hezbollah's three-day response to the assassination of the commander of Hezbollah's Nasser unit martyr Talib Sami Abdallah, as an example of such an incident. Hezbollah struck with intensity targets across Israeli-occupied territories, including the Meron Air Traffic Control base and bases in the occupied Golan on multiple occasions.
The deepest attack targeted the Sky Dew High Availability Aerostat System near the Golani Junction in occupied Tabaraya, which is located nearly 32.2 km away from the farthest point on the Israeli line of withdrawal from South Lebanon.
"In this manner, Hezbollah preserves the equation that the more painful the Israeli strike is to it, the more intense Hezbollah’s response will be deep within Israel and against higher-quality targets," Alma explained.
In this context, Hezbollah is yet to deploy its advanced missile systems and execute other military strategies against Israeli occupation forces and targets, despite confrontations that have persisted for nearly 270 days.
Experts estimated that Israeli threats of all-out war with Lebanon are to produce some of the most grim results for the Israeli settler community and the occupation's infrastructure. Yet, the occupation insists on escalating confrontations with Hezbollah, especially after the latest strike which led to Hezbollah leader martyr Mohammad Nehme Nasser.
