Hezbollah condemns Israeli aggression on Iran
Hezbollah says the latest Israeli assault on Iran's national sovereignty will not affect the Islamic Republic's unwavering and explicit stance.
Hezbollah issued Saturday a strong condemnation of the recent Israeli aggression targeting the Islamic Republic of Iran, describing it as a dangerous escalation that affects the entire region.
In a statement, Hezbollah emphasized that the attack reveals the hostile nature of the Israeli occupation, "which perpetrates massacres and causes suffering and destruction with the full, explicit support of the United States, which bears full responsibility alongside it for these tragedies and sorrows."
Hezbollah stressed that this blatant assault on Iran's national sovereignty will in no way affect the Islamic Republic's unwavering and explicit stance, nor its full support at all levels for the Palestinian and Lebanese people.
The Lebanese Resistance group also praised the Iranian armed forces for successfully thwarting the attack, extending condolences to Iran's leadership and people for the martyrs who ascended on the path to al-Quds and wished the injured a swift recovery.
"We extend our condolences to the leadership of the Republic and its honorable people for the martyrs on the path to al-Quds, and we ask God to grant the injured a speedy recovery and the Islamic Republic victory and steadfastness," the statement concluded.
Iran's air defenses foil multiple Israeli attacks on military bases
Israeli warplanes launched an aggression on Iran, as explosions were heard in several areas, including the capital Tehran, early on Saturday. Attacks renewed at around 4:30 am, as footage circulated of several successful interceptions near the capital.
The Israeli military command confirmed that its Air Force was conducting strikes on "military targets" in Iran. It also warned Israeli settlers, urging them to remain "alert and vigilant," in a statement.
At least three explosions were heard near Tehran, Al Mayadeen's correspondent in Iran reported.
Later, our correspondent said that Israeli warplanes attempted to target three bases in Tehran Province, which includes multiple counties. However, Iranian air defenses were able to intercept the incoming attack, leading to minimal damage to the intended targets.
Iranian air defenses successfully intercepted hostile targets aimed at military bases in the southern and western parts of Tehran Province, outside the capital city itself, our correspondent pointed out.
Hours after the first attack was launched, another wave of aerial targets was detected over Iran, at around 4:30 am. Medium-range air defenses were activated to shoot down all hostile objects over Tehran, Al Mayadeen's correspondent reported.
Footage also circulated of successful interceptions over eastern areas in the Tehran province.
Later, informed sources revealed that multiple Israeli drones were launched toward Iranian air defense bases in eastern Tehran, only to be shot down.
