Hezbollah hails ISF for thwarting ISIS attack
Hezbollah praises the strained efforts of the internal security forces' information division.
Hezbollah hailed the work of the internal security forces' information branch, saying they achieved a huge accomplishment in thwarting a plan by ISIS to carry out three suicide bombings in Beirut's southern suburbs.
In a statement, Hezbollah added that "the scheme was against Lebanon, the Lebanese, and our honorable people in the southern suburbs."
The statement went on to say that it is yet another achievement that can be added to the dismantling of Israeli spy networks.
Hezbollah also called on security forces to coordinate operations, maintain alert and preparedness to prevent the enemy from exploiting any gaps created by the country's socio-economic difficulties.
Last month, Acting Minister of Information Abbas Halabi announced that 17 Israeli spy networks were uncovered in Lebanon following successive operations, noting that they played both a local and regional role.
The dismantling of these networks is one of the biggest security operations in Lebanon since 2009, Al-Akhbar newspaper reported.
Between 2009 and 2014, the Lebanese authorities arrested more than 100 people on charges of espionage for "Israel".
