The Islamic Resistance in Lebanon - Hezbollah released Wednesday an official statement expressing its deepest condolences following the martyrdom of Hamas politburo chief Ismail Haniyeh, in which it expressed its deepest sympathies and extended its condolences to all Palestinian factions.

Hezbollah praised Haniyeh as a "great and sincere leader" who courageously opposed American hegemony and the Zionist occupation. The statement highlighted Haniyeh's unwavering commitment to the Palestinian cause and his readiness to sacrifice his life, which he anticipated throughout his leadership.

The Resistance movement also expressed its condolences to Haniyeh's family, acknowledging their sacrifices and the numerous martyrs they have contributed to the struggle to liberate occupied al-Quds and Palestine as a whole.

"The martyrdom of Leader Haniyeh will increase the determination and perseverance of the freedom fighters in all areas of Resistance," the statement declared, emphasizing that his death would strengthen the resolve of those facing the Zionist regime, the "killer of women and children and the perpetrator of genocide in Gaza."

Hezbollah also expressed its empathy with Hamas for the pain and anger over the loss of Haniyeh and the crimes committed by the Israeli occupation, as well as pride that the leaders have been at the forefront when leading their people and Resistance fighters toward martyrdom. The statement reaffirmed confidence in the divine promise of victory for the believers and Resistance fighters.

The statement concluded with a prayer for Haniyeh, asking that he be accepted by God among the martyrs of the cause.

Hamas confirmed the martyrdom of the leader at dawn Wednesday, noting that the head of the political bureau was killed in a "treacherous Zionist airstrike on his residence in Tehran."

Iran's IRGC later said, "We are studying the dimensions of the martyrdom of Ismail Haniyeh, the head of Hamas' political bureau, and will announce the results of the investigation at a later time."
