Hezbollah MP: Is US incapable of stopping 'Israel's' violations?
Loyalty to the Resistance Bloc MP Hussein Hajj Hassan holds the United Nations, United States, and France responsible for monitoring all the ongoing Israeli violations in southern Lebanon.
Lebanese MP Hussein Hajj Hassan, a member of the Loyalty to the Resistance Bloc, emphasized Hezbollah's strength and resilience, stating, "Hezbollah is strong enough at all levels."
In an interview for Al Mayadeen on Sunday, Hajj Hassan stressed that some parties "are crossing the line with us, and our message is that no one can deal with us from a position of coercion." He further asserted, "Hezbollah is strong and cohesive, and its leadership and popular base can absorb all shocks."
Hajj Hassan highlighted public support for Hezbollah, referring to the daily martyrdom processions as "a referendum on Hezbollah's presence and its unaffected base of popular support."
Wafiq Safa, head of Hezbollah's Coordination and Liaison Unit, earlier underlined that Hezbollah was "stronger and more resilient than steel" and "more powerful than ever before, as witnessed by the enemy."
In his first media appearance after the war on Lebanon, Safa stated that Hezbollah is "ready for all challenges," and "will stand with the people, behind them, and on the ground" to rebuild what was destroyed during the Israeli aggression.
"We have always stood and will continue to stand with the people of resistance, protecting them from any harm internally, and there will be no possibility for anyone to break our morale," he added, reassuring everyone that there is no need for concern.
US, France, UN responsible for Israeli violations
Addressing Israeli provocations in southern Lebanon, Hajj Hassan accused the US of enabling these violations and covering them up, questioning, "Is the US incapable of stopping Israel's actions that have gone too far?" He also held the US, France, and the United Nations responsible for monitoring and addressing these breaches.
He directed a pointed remark at "Lebanese sovereignty" advocates, i.e. domestic parties and voices opposed to Hezbollah and the Resistance, asking, "Have you not noticed that the occupation has committed 816 violations in less than 60 days?"
Regarding Israeli media leaks suggesting the potential continued presence of Israeli occupation forces in border villages, Hajj Hassan said, "If they stay, Hezbollah will decide the appropriate response at the right time, as the Secretary-General has said."
The Lebanese MP also criticized Israeli expansionism in Syria, describing it as "a threat to the entire region, not just to Hezbollah and Lebanon."
He reiterated Hezbollah's vision for Syria, saying, "Hezbollah wants Syria to enjoy stability, to embrace all its people, and to remain vigilant against the dangers of Israeli occupation."
Frangieh is declared presidential candidate
On the topic of Lebanon's presidential elections, Hajj Hassan clarified Hezbollah's position, stating, "Our stance that there is no veto on General Joseph Aoun does not mean Hezbollah supports or opposes him. Our declared candidate is Marada Movement leader Sleiman Frangieh."
He added, "The ongoing discussions regarding the presidency have yet to yield results due to political divisions. The president must be a unifying figure who upholds sovereignty."
This echoes Hezbollah Secretary-General Sheikh Naim Qassem's words, which underscored the need for unity and proper governance. "We are keen to elect a President on the condition that parliamentary blocs elect him in an open session of parliament," Qassem stated, adding, "We are working on nourishing unity and cooperation in order to develop our country."
