Human rights organization in Yemen: UN helpless, international community silent
From in front of the targeted prison, human rights organizations condemn the Saudi war crimes against the Yemeni people.
Today, Saturday, the Yemeni Ministry of Health and humanitarian organizations held a press conference in front of the targeted reserve prison in Saada, where the latest Saudi-led massacre occurred, claiming the lives of dozens and wounding hundreds.
During the conference, human rights organizations condemned the war crimes against the Yemeni people, the latest of which was the aggression by the Saudi-led coalition forces in Saada's reserve prison.
The organizations stated that rescue operations are still underway in the prison looking for survivors.
The Human Rights Organizations also denounced the silence of the international community and the United Nations, as well as the international organizations' inability to form an independent investigation committee into the crimes of the Saudi-led aggression. It called on the United Nations to act, stressing the need for these crimes to stop.
Who is responsible?
During the press conference, the governor of Saada, Muhammad Jaber Awad, held the United States fully responsible for the massacres being committed in Yemen.
He also held the United Nations and international organizations responsible for not reporting on the recent massacres of aggression and carrying out their responsibilities.
The governor pointed out that the residents of the pre-trial prison are victims of the United Nations and international organizations' silence, calling on the Yemeni people to join the frontlines and respond to the massacres of aggression.
For their part, civil society organizations in Yemen indicated that this is not the first crime committed by the coalition, but rather it is a part of a series of crimes committed during the past seven years, pointing out that “the Red Cross went to the prison three days before the crime and the United Nations hid the prison's coordinates so the coalition doesn't target it, but the aggression did not care."
Western humanitarian organizations, led by the Norwegian Refugee Organization, denounced the brutal massacres committed by the Saudi coalition in Saada, Al Hudaydah, and Sanaa.
More than 60 victims were killed and more than 120 wounded as a result of the Saudi coalition raids, which directly targeted the central prison in Saada, but today the Security Council condemned what it described as "brutal terrorist aggression against Abu Dhabi and other regions of Saudi Arabia," completely disregarding the perpetrations of the Saudi regime and its allies.
Earlier, the Saudi coalition aircraft targeted the communications tower in the city of Al-Hudaydah, which led to six martyrs, including three children, and 18 wounded, most of whom are children.
