ICJ: Nicaragua requests to join South Africa case against 'Israel'
Both South Africa and "Israel" have been invited to provide written observations on Nicaragua’s application for permission to intervene as a party.
The International Court of Justice in the Hague revealed yesterday that Nicaragua filed its own application on January 23 against "Israel", requesting to join South Africa's case against the latter's genocide against Gaza.
"In its application for permission to intervene, Nicaragua states that it 'has interests of a legal nature that stem from the rights and obligations imposed by the Genocide Convention on all State Parties," the ICJ stated.
Nicaragua also urged judges to rule that "Israel has breached and continues to breach its obligations under the Genocide Convention" and to "cease acts or measures which would be capable of killing or continuing to kill Palestinians," the statement revealed.

Nicaragua vs. Germany, Canada, the UK and the Netherlands
The Nicaraguan government started Monday proceedings to take Germany, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and Canada to the International Court of Justice (ICJ) for their complicity in the genocide against the Palestinian people in Gaza by providing the Israeli occupation with the weapons and means to carry out the horrendous act.
The government in Nicaragua published an official statement in which it revealed that it warned the governments of said Western powers that they might be jointly complicit in the "flagrant and systemic violations" of the Convention on Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide and international humanitarian law in the Gaza Strip.
In its note verbal, Nicaragua urged the four states to immediately cease the provision of arms, munitions, and technologies to "Israel" because it might use them to facilitate or commit violations of the Genocide Convention in Gaza.
The memorandum underlined that the countries supporting "Israel" are obligated to cut off supplies to it "from the moment the state becomes aware of the existence of a serious risk of committing genocide."
