The recent operation comes a couple of weeks after two illegal Israeli settlers were killed in a shooting operation also in Huwara. On February 7, Al Mayadeen correspondent in the West Bank confirmed that Israeli occupation forces killed Abd Al-Fattah Kharrousha, accused of carrying out the operation, during the storming of the Jenin refugee camp.
The two Huwara operations were carried out in parallel with the Aqaba and Sharm El-Sheikh meetings attended by officials from the Palestinian Authority, Egypt, Jordan, the US, and the Israeli occupation in order to look into the situation in occupied Palestine.
It is noteworthy that Israeli occupation Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich called on "Isreal" to "wipe out" Huwara after illegal Israeli settlers rampaged through the city, murdering one Palestinian and burning Palestinian cars, homes, and businesses to the ground.
