In support of Palestine, Egyptian engineer quits Oracle 'dream job'
An Egyptian engineer quits his job at Oracle after accidentally discovering that its co-founder is a strong supporter of the Israeli occupation.
Egyptian engineer Mahmoud Sobhy resigned from his job in computer software giant Oracle, after knowing that its chairman, chief technology officer and co-founder, Larry Ellison, is one of the largest financiers of the Israeli occupation army.
Sobhy announced his resignation on a Facebook post, saying, "I announce my resignation from the giant Oracle company after I stayed with them for nearly two years, despite the fact that working in one of those giant companies was a dream for me and for many of my peers."

He continued, "The reason is that I accidentally discovered that Mr. Larry Ellison, the founder of Oracle and the owner of nearly half of its shares, is a strong supporter of the Zionist entity and annually donates millions of dollars to support the Zionist army."
It is noteworthy that this post was removed by Facebook, under the pretext of violating "Professional Community Policies."

Earlier, Sobhy wrote on Facebook that “tomorrow is my last working day at Oracle, and thank God, God blessed me with a job in another company that I used to work for before moving to Oracle.”
It is noteworthy that in September 2021, Haaretz reported that Ellison asked Benjamin Netanyahu to join the board of directors of the company
In 2017, the American billionaire donated $16.6 million to the so-called "Friends of the Israel Defense Forces," deemed as the largest single gift in the Israeli organization's history, as per the Times of "Israel".
